9 Nov Goodwills & Wish List

Greetings, Garden Concert Fans-

We have a real treat for this year’s Garden Concert at Fairfield on Sunday 9th November from 3pm. Guest performers are ‘The Wish List’ – a wonderful duo who are at the top of my ‘wish list’ of performers I love to listen to.

The ‘Wish List’ (Emma Nixon – right and Nicole Murray- left) explore the possibilities of strings and voices, revealing surprising and joyous musical moments. They will perform material from their Scottish and Australian repertoire, as well as songs from their show, The Secret History of Queensland.

Emma Nixon is the winner of three Golden Fiddle Awards and her playing of traditional and contemporary Scottish music has enchanted audiences around the world. Nicole Murray, a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist has concentrated on traditional music, harmony work and song writing (as well as performing, touring internationally and recording with singer John Thompson as the duo cloudstreet).

We (‘The Goodwills’) will also be playing, including a selection of new songs from our upcoming new CD – ‘The Last Waterhole’ – recorded at Pix Vane-Mason’s studios at Conondale, with multi-instrumentalist Steve Cook as co-producer.
