Folk Redlands: November

Folk Redlands – November

November 2nd – Don Jarmey

Known for his energetic enthusiastic style and engaging stage presence, Don Jarmey (vocals, Irish bouzouki & guitar) is a solo act with the energy of a full band. Having played festivals and folk clubs from far North Queensland to Southern Victoria and in Ireland and the United Kingdom, Don’s style is acoustic folk/rock, and “full of life and knowledge”.

November 16th – The Fabulous HooHa Band
An acoustic swing ensemble playing vibrant versions of well- known standards, folk-jazz fusion and originals.  Renown for lush vocals and virtuosic razor-sharp solo guitar set within infectious gypsy rhythms, the band is: Mia O’Brien on vocals and rhythm guitar, Tim O’Brien on lead guitar, Jodi Murtha on acoustic bass and backing vocals, and Suzanne Hibbs on cajon and percussion. The HooHa’s  have enjoyed a continuous run of gigs in and around South East Qld since 2012 (including repeat performances at The Empire Theatre Toowoomba, The Ipswich Civic Theatre, Studio 188, Rocks River Festival, Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, the Ekka, Redfest, Winterlights Festival, Woodford, Brisbane Unplugged, Foco Nuevo, and numerous live music venues). Sometimes sophisticated, occasionally groovy, always vibrant and good humoured – the HooHa Band is a unique, uplifting musical experience.
